
We are happy to announce that Ambarish Mitra, CEO of blippar is joining the Mobile & Real Time panel. Ambarish and his team invented the first image recognition phone app aimed at bringing to life real-world newspapers, magazines, products and posters with exciting augmented reality experiences and instantaneous content. Previously, Ambarish was Head of Innovation at AXA and Head of Product Development at isango.com. He was the winner of the 2011 ‘Insurance IT Leader of the Year Award’ and also founded Womeninfoline.com, an Indian internet portal aimed at women. More recently he has created a theme based mobile social network called Stuck, which has more than 250,000 users worldwide.

Launched in August 2011, blippar already secured partnerships in the UK with Tesco's, Cadburys and the Metro newspaper. To use Blippar, readers point their iPhone, iPad or Android device’s camera at a printed Blippar image to reveal a 3D overlay. No QR codes are necessary, and screen grabs of the overlays can be saved and sent to friends over Facebook, Twitter or email.
